Alexandra & Marine General Hospital

The Alexandra Marine and General Hospital (AMGH) has been providing quality health care services to the residents of the Town of Goderich and surrounding municipalities for over 100 years. 

You can take advantage of a variety of support services available in your community, whether you're receiving care in your home or managing on your own. 

Huron County Health Unit is one of 36 health units in Ontario.  These 36 health units provide public health programs and services in the community as mandated by the Health Protection and Promotion Act.  They also deliver additional programs based on community need.  The Health unit is an essential community health service with dedicated staff who promote and protect the health of our community. 

In 2003, a Tri-Party agreement was signed by Town of Goderich, the Alexandra and Marine General Hospital Board and the Hospital Foundation to form a Medical Clinic committee to oversee design and construction of the facility.  The municipality owns the Centre and rents space to Physicians, Nurse Practitioners, and the Family Health Team.   

The YMCA of Goderich-Huron has partnered with the Maitland Valley Family Health Team to host a Weight Management Program periodically throughout the year. These free educational classes occur once per week for approximately 8 weeks, focusing on healthy nutrition tips for weight loss and lifestyle/behaviour modifications with an optional physical activity segment.
