Community Programs

To maintain our Vision, the MVFHT strives to offer comprehensive programs and specialty services. However, we acknowledge services in our wider community that serve patients in a variety of other ways.

Breastfeeding Clinics with Lactation Consultants

Lactation consultant appointments are available at MVFHT every Fridays from 9:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. Clinics are staffed by Public Health Nurses / Lactation Consultants. Information about normal growth and development, breastfeeding counselling and hands-on assistance for latch are provided. Referrals from healthcare providers are always accepted. Prenatal counselling about breastfeeding is also available.

If you have a question please call the Health Unit at 519-482-3416 or toll free 1-877-837-6143. Ask to speak to a public health nurse on the Family Health team. Residents in northern communities in the county can contact a public health nurse in Wingham at 519-357-4993.

Based on the positive response to the $0 join fee promotion this winter, the YMCA is waiving the join fees for all of 2016!
